I came to love the satisfying thunk of the cleaver hitting the cutting board.

Its magnificent display of potted ferns was famous throughout Europe, as was its mouthwatering and inventive cuisine, courtesy of the legendary Chef Philippe, a true master of the cutting board.

During his early days, some even offered up basic tips or advice, such as how to hold a knife properly or how to stabilize the cutting board.

That doesn’t mean I never touch my cutting board during the week.
