A few inches of snow is possible at the resort levels of Southern California’s mountains.

By Monday the colder air in the north will have been swept southwards on a northerly wind bringing down an arctic maritime airmass - and that means the chance of snow.

"We think the Winter Games has a really good strong visual identity of snow and ice. And we think that is unique and is worth preserving," Grahamslaw said.

This storm will not be much of a snow maker for Southern California’s mountains.

Fire crews should soon receive assistance with the arrival of rain and possible snow as a winter storm warning is in effect in Mono County from 1 p.m.
