I’ve ditched the fleece I used to hide the vest with when passing through busier parts of our neighborhood.

Mike Andrews from National Trading Standards, says this new twist on a well-known scam is designed to "fleece victims out of as much money as possible".

The animals are small and their fleeces have a wide range of colours and shades, including dark brown.

Sitting in a wheelchair, with thin, grey hair, wearing a loose T-shirt and fleece pyjama trousers, she said she did not like people feeling pity for her, but she needed money to cover the basics.

"Disabled customers deserve to be treated with respect and dignity and not fleeced as soon as they arrive," he said.
