It came on the closing night of Il trovatore, a four-act opera by Giuseppe Verdi.

Il trovatore has now finished its 11-night run at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

Lest LBO be mistaken for New York’s Metropolitan Opera, the Met mezzo-soprano who starred as the gypsy in Verdi’s “Il Trovatore” will sing whatever animal is needed in Oliveros’ “El Relicario de los Animales,” which will be mounted at Heritage Square Museum on Feb. 15 and 16.

Though she made her debut as Leonora in Verdi’s “Il Trovatore” in 2010, her history here goes back to the beginning of the century, when she participated in the Young Artists Program.

Among the dozen revivals planned for the season are Verdi’s “Rigoletto” and “Il Trovatore,” Puccini’s “Tosca” and “La Bohème,” and Offenbach’s “Les Contes d’Hoffmann,” as well as two versions of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute”: the full-length, original in German, directed by Simon McBurney, and a one-act, English adaptation that has become a holiday staple at the Met.
