Astonishingly, he quoted the Bible to justify his blitzkrieg: “I recall the words from the Holy Scripture: Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

The Holy Scriptures do not forbid him to suppose as great a Multitude of Systems and as much inhabited, as he pleases.

In other settings, holding up Holy Scripture might have been the president’s way of saying: “BIBLE GOOD!”
