Chopra typically stopped at Chipotle several times a week for rice, bean, chicken and corn bowls, but lately decided he could make more Mexican-style food at home.

“Everyone likes a chicken sandwich,” he notes, but while older consumers still drink hot, black coffee, younger ones gravitate toward colorful energy drinks and iced concoctions that look perfect drizzled with caramel on TikTok.

Visitors share their itineraries online, complete with coloured-coded route maps and snaps of Uyghur delicacies, like the spicy stew, "big plate chicken", grilled lamb skewers, and wine made with horse milk.

Each offering had items for about 40 meals, with whole grains, fresh produce, tortillas, canned tuna, yogurt and frozen chicken.

But he also made headlines for indulging in one of the nation's favorite pairings -- fried chicken and beer, known as "chimaek".
