Two pieces of four-by-four-inch timber each fifteen feet long should be made for sills by nailing two-by-fours together.

The sills, which are four inches by four inches, are also supposed to be made by nailing two two-by-fours together.

This fender is made of two two-by-fours set on edge and cross pieces let in near each end.

When this has been done, cut four two-by-fours twenty-eight inches long.

As may be seen, there are three two-by-fours on each side (Fig. 222).
