The cubist-inspired sculpture — half toy rocking horse head, half toy dinosaur head — is alive in more ways than one.

The idea for “Split-Rocker” came to Koons when he noticed his son’s rocking horse in one corner of a room, and a rocking dinosaur in another.

"My nana and grandad, who have passed away, used to have a rocking horse so I thought that would be a lovely memory for her tree."

“We left with whatever we could put in the car. We left our furniture. We left my son’s rocking horse.”

From rocking horses to teddy bears, the sign has been restored to its former glory, albeit temporarily, while the council says it cannot fund a replacement.
