The term nice person is often used to refer to someone who is considered polite, friendly, and agreeable. Instead of using the term nice person, you can describe a person as nice simply by using these adjectives or more specific ones, such as genial or amiable. The term good person is sometimes used similarly, but this is often used to refer to someone who’s more than just polite and friendly—someone who’s good, as in kind, considerate, and morally upstanding. An all-around good person is sometimes called a mensch.

The opposite of a nice person is a jerk—someone who’s rude, mean, unkind, and unfriendly. Of course, there are plenty of much saltier terms for a not-nice person. We assume you know a lot of the main ones, so we won’t go down that sass-hole here.
