Shares ended their first day on the New York Stock Exchange up 15% from the offering price.

The merged entity is expected to generate $17 billion in annual revenue, move to a single listing on the New York Stock Exchange and have dual headquarters in Amsterdam and Philadelphia, the companies said.

The company plans to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol GRAY.

JBS shares have only been trading on the New York Stock Exchange since June after a two-year slog through regulatory filings, shareholder votes, and public sparring with activists.

The company listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 1979.
