Main Street

In a small village in Switzerland's beautiful Loetschental valley, Matthias Bellwald walks down the main street and is greeted every few steps by locals who smile or offer a handshake or friendly word.

The coffee shop, which opened recently, sits between Lord Street, Southport's famous Victorian main street, and Hart Street, the scene of last July's attack.

There’s a $5 bus that runs from the port, making stops along the main street.

"When you live in a local town you know names - it's been interesting to follow," says Emma Buckland, who stops to talk to us in the main street.

It earned the main street a grim moniker: Martyr's row.
