There was a moment earlier where Sterling choked on the grape in the greenroom.

“I literally could start crying right now, because I miss the theater so much,” Harner says during an interview in Pasadena Playhouse’s cozy subterranean greenroom.

She rounded out the momentous day by doing press and appearing on talk shows, complete with live studio audiences singing “Happy Birthday” and cake in every greenroom.

“If the actors have any downtime, they go and sit in the greenroom, whether they’re the lead or they’ve got one line,” the director says.
