I am watching Cal and Arizona State home games on TV at 3:30 p.m.

Former Crenshaw, Cal and Chargers defensive lineman Brandon Mebane was the guest speaker at the City Section football championship breakfast on Tuesday.

He received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cal State Long Beach and a master’s in public administration from USC.

He also said he was proud to be involved in the construction of the Camarillo Public Library building and new police station, as well as the creation of Cal State Channel Islands in Camarillo.

The few fans who showed up were cheering the massive young man lumbering toward the scorer’s table to check into the game against Cal State Fullerton for the first time.
