back ends

So I ripped the back ends of the sides loose from the flap, leaving it, when spread out, as shown in the diagram.

The dotted lines K K, show the paths of the chimneys which rise at the back ends of the retorts.

The lower or back ends are reduced in diameter and screwed and fitted with cap-nuts which entirely close them.

Tack front and back ends of sides to the front and back posts.

In regluing the felt to the head, glue only the back ends of the felt, and clamp with strong rubber band till the glue sets.
