While their name implies they are berries, mulberries, blackberries, and raspberries are actually aggregate fruits in the drupe or stone fruit family.

Like raspberries and blackberries, mulberries are aggregate fruit clusters, but without the tartness.

The inconspicuous flower spikes are succeeded by fleshy aggregate fruits like a blackberry, sweet, juicy, dark purple or red, each individual fruit single-seeded.

They are caused by aggregate actions, and so are called aggregate fruits.
